Anna Einemo Frøysland (she/her, b. 1992) is an Oslo-based dancer and choreographer from Lærdal in Norway. Anna is currently exploring movement material that deals with the wilderness within intimate relationships, the boarders of the self, persistency, growing things and motherhood. Anna comes from a farm, and to listen to the cycles of nature is an integrated part of her artistic practice, and her works are often attuned to details. In her upcoming new piece for December 2026, Tending to Wilde, she will explore these topics together with three string players and two dancers.
Anna holds a BA in Contemporary Dance (2013-2016) and an MA in Choreography (2023-2025) from Oslo Academy of the Arts. She has been working as a dancer in several performances for Nagelhus Schia Productions (Damien Jalet, Erna Omarsdottír and more) Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt, Jeff Pedersen Produksjonar, Marina Abramovic and Ingvild Thingnes.
In 2019, Anna choreographed and danced in the solo Still during Koreografilaboratoriet at Dansens hus in Oslo. In 2022, she choreographed the piece Vestigia for ESC youth company at BIT in Bergen. She choreographed and danced in the short film Left life behind, which was awarded “Best western Norwegian Film” at Bergen International Film Festival in 2022. Anna has made several works together with her twin sister Berit Einemo Frøysland. In 2020, they choreographed and danced in the piece Spil- a study in the language games of Wittgenstein at Lærdal Kulturhus, and the piece toured to Dock 11 in Berlin and Studio NSP in Oslo. They also choreographed Gigant, a piece for six dancers that premiered at the Norwegian National Ballet as a part of CODA International Dance Festival in 2022.
Anna received a 3-year working Grant from Norwegian Arts Council (2020-2022), as well as artistic grants from FFUK, Sparebankstiftinga SFJ, Norske Dansekunstnere among others.
Currently, Anna is also seeking to develop her experience as a producer.
